About the role
Real Chemistry is seeking a Senior Manager, Social Media to join its integrated healthcare communications team and own the strategic and day-to-day execution of social media programs that support client objectives. This role owns the development of platform-specific social strategies that align with broader healthcare communications and marketing initiatives. The Senior Manager will act as a social media thought partner for clients, translating platform best practices and cultural trends into compliant, high-impact recommendations. They will leverage data, AI tools, and creative experimentation to continuously optimize content performance and audience engagement. The position requires close collaboration across account service, paid social, earned media, and digital teams to deliver seamless, integrated social programs. The hire will be responsible for mentoring junior team members and upholding brand, legal, and quality standards across all social outputs.

What you'll do
- Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to integrate organic and paid social within overarching healthcare communications programs and campaign frameworks.
- Translate platform best practices, cultural moments, and healthcare regulatory considerations into actionable, compliant social media strategies and recommendations.
- Lead the planning, setup, trafficking, optimization, and performance reporting of paid social initiatives across key platforms in line with campaign goals.
- Analyze platform insights, campaign data, and audience behavior to identify opportunities and refine social strategies for improved results.
- Produce clear, compelling, and platform-native copy for both organic and paid social campaigns across a range of social channels.
- Collaborate with creative and design partners to develop social-first content that accounts for platform behavior, ad formats, and specific audience needs.
- Utilize AI tools and Canva to accelerate workflows, drafting, organizing, resizing, versioning, and refining content while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Maintain high standards for brand, compliance, and quality across all social deliverables while improving everyday workflows and team efficiency.
- Serve as a trusted, day-to-day social media partner for multiple healthcare accounts, anticipating needs and supporting proactive problem-solving.
- Ensure smooth project momentum through thoughtful follow-ups, clear feedback tracking, and disciplined next-step management with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with account teams, paid social specialists, earned media professionals, and digital colleagues to activate integrated social programs that support overarching business objectives.
- Identify emerging trends, tools, and technologies relevant to healthcare social media and champion appropriate, responsible adoption where they enhance client outcomes.
- Document processes, learnings, and best practices to build internal capabilities and enable scalable, repeatable social success across the team.
- Support the development of social media training and resource materials for clients and internal stakeholders to elevate overall understanding and execution.
- Contribute to business development efforts by showcasing social media capabilities and success stories in client-facing materials and conversations.
Requirements

- Bring five or more years of social media experience, with a background in regulated sectors such as biotech, pharmaceutical, or financial services.
- Include two to four years of hands-on paid social experience, covering setup, trafficking, optimization, and performance reporting.
- Hold a college degree; a Bachelor of Arts or equivalent is preferred.
- Have prior agency experience in a client-facing role.
- Show familiarity with FDA regulations that guide social media activities for biotech and pharmaceutical clients.
- Demonstrate a strong command of major social platforms and a clear understanding of how distinct audiences use them.
- Provide examples of strong writing, editing, and publishing abilities for both short-form and long-form social content.
- List experience with social media buying platforms such as Meta Business Manager and LinkedIn Ads; Meta Blueprint or similar certifications are a plus.
- Comfort using Canva, AI-enabled tools, and Microsoft Office - especially PowerPoint - to improve speed, organization, and output quality.
Nice to have
- Preferred understanding of nuances in healthcare social media within highly regulated environments.
- Evidence of experience leveraging data and experimentation to continuously refine social strategies.
- Familiarity with internal workflows and tools used for managing client approvals and compliance reviews.
Practical notes
This role is hybrid and based in any of our US offices - including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco - or remote within the US, depending on team and business needs. This role will primarily support East Coast working hours; candidates based on the West Coast may be considered if they are comfortable working East Coast hours.
