What you'll do
- Conduct research and development on thin film materials, focusing on their properties and applications in quantum computing.
- Design and execute experiments to characterize the physical and chemical properties of various thin film materials.

- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to material processing and device fabrication.

Requirements
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field with a focus on thin films or nanomaterials.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in materials research and development, specifically in thin film deposition and characterization.
- Strong understanding of quantum mechanics and its applications in material science.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy.
- Experience with cleanroom environments and fabrication processes for quantum devices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- A track record of publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals or presenting at scientific conferences.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with quantum computing principles and technologies, including superconducting qubits or trapped ions.
- Experience with computational modeling tools for materials design and analysis.
