About the role
Senior Frontend Engineer Opportunity at Provable
Provable is currently seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer dedicated to constructing elegant interfaces for zero-knowledge applications. This role represents a significant opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on the user-facing components of the Shield ecosystem. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing responsive web applications that enhance user interactions with services and web3 products. You will design, implement, and optimize interfaces that balance visual appeal with robust functionality and user-friendliness. Your passion for innovative web technologies and open-source projects will directly fuel the creation of critical resources for developers and contributors across the ecosystem. The position involves developing new user-focused frameworks, refining user experience, and delivering production-quality code within a fast-growing team passionate about privacy and digital transformation.
Position Description and Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will design, build, and maintain user-facing components for our services and products. The work requires leveraging modern web technologies and frameworks to create solutions that integrate seamlessly with backend logic. Collaboration with backend engineers is central to ensuring the front end operates harmoniously with server-side processes. A continuous focus on performance is required; you will identify bottlenecks and propose, then implement, solutions that improve the overall user journey. The role demands an intrinsic desire to learn and iterate on products rapidly. You will participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing optimization. Writing clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code is mandatory, as this codebase will serve as a benchmark for quality across the team.
Exploration of novel toolchains is encouraged to accelerate development cycles for privacy-oriented products. You will also guide juniors through code reviews, aiming to elevate the entire team's quality and shared understanding. Shipping polished builds on schedule is essential, always while maintaining strict test coverage standards. This involves coordinating with distributed engineers to align client expectations with server designs tightly. The position requires architecting responsive web modules that integrate cleanly with backend services on a daily basis. You will also measure runtime behaviors to remove sluggish paths and constantly elevate user satisfaction. Documenting patterns is a key duty so teammates can quickly grasp logic and interface contracts.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Provable requires proficiency in building web applications at scale using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and other modern frameworks. Clear communication and documentation of your thoughts and code is essential for team alignment. At least five years of software engineering experience is required, including two years focused specifically on TypeScript development. A foundational understanding of blockchain concepts is necessary, and experience contributing to or working on a live blockchain project is expected. You must possess the ability to challenge design choices that weaken engagement and push for stronger user interactions.
Building systems that remain performant as user counts grow is a core expectation of the role. A degree in Computer Science or a background in low-level systems programming and distributed systems design is required for this position. You should have an intrinsic desire to learn and iterate on products quickly. Familiarity with UX design principles is important, and you should not hesitate to flag elements that will enhance user engagement.
