What you'll do

• Spearhead the accounting operations team, focusing on recruitment, performance evaluations, and employee development to build a strong and capable workforce.
• Oversee the complete accounts payable cycle, which includes processing vendor invoices and approving payments to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Manage accounts receivable functions, setting cash collection goals, facilitating customer communications, and forecasting bad debt reserves to maintain financial health.
• Direct the invoicing process for customers, ensuring that all invoices are issued promptly and that daily financial reports are generated without delay.
• Lead credit and collections efforts, conducting credit risk assessments, managing shipping holds, and striving to keep Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) below 45 days.
• Ensure that all financial operations align with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements, maintaining the integrity of our financial practices.
• Assist in the month-end closing processes and prepare weekly reports on financial performance to provide insights into the company's fiscal status.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and take charge of system-related projects to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in finance leadership roles, with a focus on managing personnel directly.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on accounting experience is essential.
• Availability to work onsite in Maple Plain, MN, from Tuesday to Thursday.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), or individuals granted refugee or asylee status to comply with ITAR regulations.
• Strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and robust analytical skills are required for this role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective interactions with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics, is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a finance role within a manufacturing setting would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of advanced financial modeling techniques can be a plus.

• Experience in financial reporting and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
• Proven track record in team leadership and fostering performance development among staff.
