- Architect and implement sophisticated control strategies for mobile manipulation systems that directly support and align with aggressive production targets and stringent quality standards.
- Translate complex field observations and operational data into highly accurate dynamic models that sustain reliable hardware performance and predict system behavior over time.
- Direct the execution of intricate tasks such as moving prefabricated modules from high-speed production lines to secure staging areas while meticulously respecting defined cycle times and safety protocols.
- Coordinate the seamless execution of build processes where controllers must intelligently manage both robotic arms and mobile bases under conditions of high uncertainty and variable environments.
- Guide the implementation of rigorous review routines that proactively verify trajectories, enforce safety limits, and ensure full regulatory and operational compliance prior to any system execution.
- Forge robust partner integrations that connect robotic controllers with enterprise factory information systems, ensuring data flows seamlessly and operations remain synchronized.
- Implement and refine perception stacks capable of interpreting both traditional two-dimensional images and complex three-dimensional point clouds to enable precise manipulation and navigation.
- Tune adaptive control responses so that mechanisms can handle a vast array of different parts and materials without requiring any manual reconfiguration or downtime.
- Design highly reliable intake pipelines that convert raw, noisy sensor streams into stable and accurate state estimates for real-time decision-making.
- Document critical architecture decisions, operational boundaries, and failure modes with exceptional clarity to ensure deep operational understanding by cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with AI researchers and manufacturing engineers to iterate on control algorithms, rapidly prototyping solutions and validating their effectiveness in simulated and live settings.
- Ensure all robotic control solutions are scalable, maintainable, and built with a strong focus on long-term operational sustainability within demanding production floors.
Requirements
- Must possess a minimum of three years of professional experience building robotic control software specifically for industrial applications in demanding environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on work with mobile robots and manipulators running live controllers in real-time is absolutely essential for success in this role.
- Candidates must show strong, proven skill with core algorithms related to localization, mapping, and motion planning within structured and semi-structured spaces.
- The ability to communicate complex technical tradeoffs clearly to diverse teammates, including non-technical stakeholders, while steadfastly upholding schedule and safety commitments is a strict requirement.
- A bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field is mandatory for this position.
- Professionals must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsorship, ensuring immediate onboarding and project continuity.
