About the role
An Estimator, or Cost Engineer, is responsible for cost calculations to determine how much it will cost a company to complete a project or provide products and services to its clients. They do this by researching the costs of the materials, transport, labor and equipment. This person's responsibility includes ballpark pricing, prototype pricing and pricing for full productions runs. Estimator duties and responsibilities Research the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor and equipment Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors including wood, metal and plastic vendors as well as installation partners Obtain multiple quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame Communicate costs and potential value engineered solutions back to the project management and engineering teams Assess the risk levels associated with a project Evaluate the pricing request and work with project management to define the level of quote need i.e. The listing location is Fairfield, Oh.

- Qualifications: 1-2 years of work experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in custom design-built business preferred Experience in the retail industry is preferred Proficient in reading detailed production drawings Expert knowledge of various materials including but not limited to metal, acrylic, wood, expanded PVC, styrene, corrugate, plastic corrugate, etc.
