What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technology needs, providing technical support and guidance as necessary.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Manage software installations, updates, and configurations, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive data and maintain system integrity.
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Provide training and support to end-users, helping them to utilize technology effectively and efficiently.
- Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to create a comprehensive knowledge base for the team.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance our IT capabilities.
- Participate in on-call support rotation to address urgent IT issues outside of regular working hours.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT team, encouraging feedback and collaboration to optimize workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or engineering roles, with a strong understanding of network and server management.
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS, along with experience in virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience in deploying and managing cloud-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and system management tasks is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are advantageous.
- Experience with ITIL or similar frameworks for IT service management.
- Familiarity with database management systems and SQL.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is a plus.
