You will partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts to translate learner and tutor needs into reliable product outcomes. You will own the full lifecycle of complex features, balancing rapid delivery with long-term architectural health. You will leverage AI tools to boost engineering productivity while establishing quality and security standards for agentic workflows. You will drive backend innovation in Python and scalable APIs that power a seamless tutoring marketplace. You will lead frontend evolution in React and TypeScript to create responsive, intuitive learning experiences. You will mentor engineers across the team and champion data-driven decisions that improve user engagement. You will shape system design to ensure resilience, observability, and performance at global scale.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop scalable backend services using Python and Django to support new product features and third-party integrations.
• Build and iterate on frontend user interfaces in React and TypeScript, collaborating closely with design to deliver intuitive learner and tutor flows.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from discovery and requirements through implementation, testing, and production deployment.
• Define and enforce frontend and backend engineering standards, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and security.
• Partner with product and data teams to design experiments, analyze results, and make evidence-based decisions that improve learning outcomes.
• Design system architecture that balances scalability, reliability, maintainability, and developer experience across the platform.
• Navigate ambiguity in product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and align technical solutions with business goals and user impact.
• Influence technical direction across the organization by collaborating with engineers, managers, and stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
• Continuously improve craftsmanship through learning, experimentation, and knowledge sharing to raise the quality bar for the entire team.
• Contribute to the migration and operation of AI-driven development workflows, integrating AI tools into the SDLC responsibly and effectively.
• Own and evolve the experimentation framework, enabling data-backed product decisions and continuous optimization of user journeys.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, collaborating with on-call engineers to restore service and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with data analysts to define metrics, monitor system health, and drive optimizations based on performance and usage data.
• Work with UX writers and designers to create clear, consistent user experiences that support motivation and progress for learners and tutors.

Requirements

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• You have 5 or more years of professional full-stack development experience shipping products in production environments.
• You have deep hands-on experience with Python and Django, building robust, maintainable backend services.
• You are proficient in React and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of component design and frontend architecture.
• You have a solid grasp of software design patterns, system architecture, and database modeling for web applications.
• You have experience implementing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs in large-scale systems.
• You are comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You have a proven track record of making data-driven decisions and using observability tools to diagnose and resolve issues.
• You have experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability and security.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and building reusable AI components for engineering teams.
• Familiarity with scalable real-time systems and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Contributions to open source projects or technical publications that demonstrate engineering leadership.
