About the role
Poshmark is seeking a Director of Data Analytics to spearhead the analytical strategy for the Revenue team, defining how data informs every critical choice in merchandising and supply. This role owns the design of the intelligence infrastructure that powers optimization initiatives across our global marketplace ecosystem. The hire will be responsible for aligning data capabilities with the strategic goals of Supply Partnerships and Merchandising leadership. You will establish the frameworks that turn raw marketplace activity into a coherent, single source of truth for inventory and Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) metrics. A core part of this position is developing the analytical models that identify supply gaps and match buyer demand with available inventory in real time. The Director will also integrate emerging GenAI tools to automate reporting pipelines and enhance demand sensing accuracy across the business. Leading a team of analysts and collaborating closely with Data Engineering will be essential to productionize these models and insights at scale. This is a strategic leadership role that will shape how data drives liquidity and growth for the Poshmark community.

What you'll do
- Architect and manage the end-to-end analytics stack for the Revenue department to ensure a single source of truth for inventory and GMV metrics.

- Construct automated analytical systems that track trend cycles and translate complex data into actionable insights for Supply Partnerships and Merchandising teams.

- Pioneer the integration of GenAI tools into analytics workflows to automate routine reporting and enhance real-time demand sensing capabilities.
- Partner with Data Engineering to productionize robust data models and provide leadership in managing a high-performing team of analysts.
- Implement sophisticated monitoring of marketplace liquidity to detect anomalies and opportunities in inventory flow.
- Establish governance standards for key revenue metrics to ensure consistency and trust in data products across the organization.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that leverage data to optimize listing velocity, pricing strategies, and conversion rates.
- Mentor analysts on best practices for translating business questions into testable hypotheses and measurable outcomes.
- Drive experimentation frameworks that use data to inform merchandising and promotional calendar decisions.
- Collaborate with commercial stakeholders to define success metrics and validate the impact of analytical interventions.
Requirements
- Bring 8 to 12 years of cumulative experience in data analytics, with a demonstrated focus on e-commerce, retail, or consumer marketplaces.
- Hold a Bachelor or Master degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics.
- Show expert proficiency in SQL and strong Python skills for building automation and conducting advanced statistical analysis.
- Demonstrate proven experience managing large-scale data environments such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Exhibit the ability to build scalable data transformation pipelines using dbt or equivalent modern tools.
- Maintain advanced visualization skills using platforms like Looker or Tableau to communicate insights effectively.
- Have practical experience applying LLMs to optimize code and accelerate analytical workflows.
- Provide a documented history of leading analytical teams and successfully partnering with senior commercial leadership.
- Show evidence of data-driven decision making that has materially impacted revenue or marketplace efficiency.
- Display strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deconstruct complex business problems into analytical strategies.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complexity into clear recommendations.
- Adhere to strict standards of data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance in all analytical practices.

- Hands-on experience with two-sided marketplace dynamics and sophisticated inventory liquidity modeling.
- A background working in the resale or fashion industry, with an understanding of its unique supply chain challenges.
- Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms such as Segment, mParticle, Hightouch, or Salesforce implementations.
- Experience building AI or LLM-powered data products that scale within production environments.
- Knowledge of paid media performance analytics for major platforms including Google, Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Expertise in demand forecasting methodologies and assortment planning practices.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data governance frameworks and A/B testing methodologies.
