Polestaream is seeking a dedicated STE5 Examiner to join our dynamic team in London. Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of software products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and testing criteria.
- Develop and implement detailed test plans and test cases based on product specifications and user requirements.
- Execute manual and automated tests, documenting results and identifying defects or areas for improvement.
- Analyze test results and provide actionable feedback to development teams, facilitating continuous improvement in product quality.
- Participate in code reviews and provide input on software design and architecture from a testing perspective.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance, applying this knowledge to enhance testing processes.
- Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of quality within the team.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of testing tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing testing outcomes and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance methodologies and practices across the organization.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with a strong focus on manual and automated testing.
- Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar technologies.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience in writing clear and concise test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about software quality.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is a plus.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Nice to have
- Experience with performance testing and tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is advantageous.
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a testing team.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in using test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms for tracking testing progress and defect management.
- Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git, for managing code changes and collaborating with development teams.
- Familiarity with database testing and SQL for validating data integrity and application functionality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
