About the role
The is a pivotal revenue generation role dedicated to expanding the footprint of MaxPreps and the broader PlayOn portfolio through strategic brand partnerships. This position is specifically tasked with the critical mission of reintroducing the MaxPreps brand to the marketplace with renewed energy and clarity. The hire will own the end-to-end sales cycle, focusing on both the aggressive hunting of new accounts and the strategic farming of key renewals within assigned national markets. A core part of the ownership involves designing and executing sophisticated multichannel pitches that effectively communicate the value of high school sports to potential sponsors. The successful candidate will act as a champion for post-sale optimization, ensuring client satisfaction while constantly identifying and securing expansion opportunities. This role requires the establishment of robust feedback loops with internal teams to sharpen marketplace knowledge and deepen actionable client insights over time. Ultimately, the Account Executive will translate complex marketplace strengths into cohesive offers that drive durable revenue growth and build impactful relationships.

What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth research and strategic hunting to generate a robust pipeline of new business opportunities across the national marketplace.
- Farm existing accounts within assigned territories to maximize retention and identify upsell opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Design and execute multichannel pitches that highlight marketplace strengths across display, video, social, content, and emerging formats.
- Coordinate closely with Ad Operations and Client Strategy teams to transform RFP demands into cohesive, compelling, and data-driven offers.
- Champion post-sale optimization initiatives to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and identify actionable expansion opportunities.
- Establish and maintain feedback loops with internal teams to continuously sharpen marketplace knowledge and refine client insights.
- Maintain accurate, real-time reporting in Salesforce and all internal systems to ensure transparency and data-driven decision-making.
- Support and execute client entertainment initiatives that reinforce trust and strengthen long-term partnership bonds.
- Collaborate with Content and Revenue Strategy teams to ensure all pitches align with brand narratives and specific audience segments.
- Demonstrate fluency in negotiating brand partnerships and applying a firm grasp of media math across various channels to drive value.
- Thrive in a hybrid sales environment, working effectively and productively in both remote and in-person settings to achieve collective business results.
- Organize complex information, think strategically at scale, and convert abstract concepts into clear, actionable roadmaps for execution.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively in writing and verbally, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the sales process.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Display, Video, Audio, Social, Branded Content, Events, Data, Targeting, and Ad Measurement.
- Exhibit a proven ability to acquire new business while stewarding agency and client relationships for long-term, sustainable growth.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree as a foundational requirement for the role.
- Bring 4-7+ years of digital media sales experience with a proven record of consistently exceeding targets and quotas.
- Maintain existing relationships with major holding companies such as Publicis, Dentsu, GroupM, OMG, Havas, and IPG.
- Cultivate and retain direct client relationships that drive sustainable growth and long-term partnerships.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to acquire new business while managing the health of existing agency and client portfolios.
- Show fluency in negotiating complex brand partnerships that deliver measurable results for all parties.
- Develop a firm grasp of media mathematics across a variety of channels to inform strategic decision-making.
- Thrive in hybrid sales environments, balancing remote collaboration with in-person engagements effectively.
- Be highly organized, capable of strategic thinking, and skilled at converting concepts into detailed, actionable roadmaps.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively with strong written and verbal skills in all professional interactions.
- Show a demonstrated interest in high school sports and the broader sports marketplace landscape.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of core advertising and media disciplines including Display, Video, Audio, Social, Branded Content, Events, Data, Targeting, and Ad Measurement.
- Exhibit technical proficiency with MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to a high standard.
- Utilize GSuite tools including Docs, Sheets, and Drive efficiently for daily workflow and collaboration.
- Have hands-on experience with Salesforce or similar revenue reporting systems for accurate tracking and forecasting.
