About the role
You will own the end-to-end commercial strategy and execution for the European region, translating the company vision into a scalable sales organization that delivers predictable, sustainable revenue growth. You will build, lead, and scale a high-performing commercial team, embedding the highest standards of accountability, coaching, and performance management into the day-to-day culture. You will act as a trusted advisor to key strategic customers, forging deep, long-term partnerships that position Plasmidsaurus as the indispensable sequencing partner for their R&D and manufacturing needs. You will leverage your deep understanding of genomics and sequencing workflows to align product value with customer outcomes, ensuring the organization captures maximum value from its innovation. You will collaborate closely with laboratory, operations, and marketing teams to ensure seamless delivery, data-driven decision-making, and consistent brand excellence across all European markets. Ultimately, you will be responsible for establishing Plasmidsaurus as the dominant sequencing relationship in Europe, driving market share growth and setting the commercial foundation for the next decade of expansion.

What you'll do
Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy for the European region, defining priorities, targets, and multi-year growth plans that align with company objectives.
Build, coach, and scale a high-performance European commercial organization, focusing on hiring, talent development, and retention of top-tier sales and customer success professionals.
Own end-to-end revenue performance, driving sustainable growth by expanding existing customer relationships and penetrating new customer segments and product lines.
Establish and own the strategic customer portfolio, deepening partnerships with key accounts in BioPharma and academic institutions to maximize lifetime value and advocacy.
Define and manage territory plans, account strategies, and pipeline targets, ensuring rigorous forecasting, transparent reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the region.
Collaborate with laboratory and operations teams to ensure reliable sample-to-result delivery, using customer feedback to continuously improve service quality and turnaround times.
Lead cross-functional initiatives with marketing, product, and customer success to align messaging, positioning, and go-to-market programs for maximum impact.
Translate complex genomics concepts into clear commercial narratives, enabling the organization to engage scientific stakeholders and convert technical differentiation into measurable business outcomes.
Implement and refine sales processes, tools, and playbooks that improve efficiency, shorten sales cycles, and increase win rates across all European markets.
Own and optimize the performance of the commercial funnel, balancing pipeline creation, conversion, and retention to meet and exceed growth targets.
Champion a culture of ownership, discipline, and continuous improvement, setting clear standards, providing actionable feedback, and developing future leaders within the region.
Work closely with leadership to shape budget, resource allocation, and strategic priorities for the European region, ensuring alignment with company-wide growth objectives.
Represent Plasmidsaurus at industry conferences, customer events, and strategic forums, elevating the brand and capturing new business opportunities.
Use data and market insights to identify emerging opportunities, competitive threats, and customer needs, adjusting strategies to maintain a durable competitive advantage.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with external stakeholders, including distributors, partners, and key influencers, to extend the reach and impact of the European commercial organization.
Requirements
You have a proven track record of building, scaling, and leading commercial organizations in the life sciences or related technology sectors.
You have deep experience in sales leadership, territory planning, and pipeline management, with a history of delivering predictable, sustainable revenue growth.
You possess a strong understanding of genomics, sequencing technologies, and the scientific customers who use these tools, enabling you to engage credibly with technical stakeholders.
You have a history of developing and managing strategic customer relationships in complex B2B environments, demonstrating the ability to create long-term value and trust.
You are fluent in German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable you to influence at all levels across Europe and beyond.
You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, making timely decisions with incomplete information while maintaining clarity of direction for your team.
You have experience building and implementing scalable sales processes, tools, and playbooks that drive efficiency and consistency in execution.

Nice to have
Experience in the sequencing, genomics, or broader life sciences industry, with a demonstrated history of commercial success in these markets.

Practical notes
This role is based in Germany and requires occasional travel within Europe to support customers and partner teams.
