About the role
Planet Technologies is seeking a developer to join our team focused on providing Microsoft services to the public sector. You will build and maintain data solutions that support critical government operations and improve business intelligence reporting. In this capacity, you will own the full lifecycle of data products from initial requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing optimization. You will act as a technical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives. Much of your effort will center on transforming complex and fragmented data into reliable, governed, and auditable pipelines. You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, performance, and security across cloud and on-premises environments. Your work will directly influence decision-making at senior levels by enabling timely, accurate, and actionable insights.

What you'll do
- Build and maintain products within the Power Platform suite to automate data processing and eliminate manual tasks.
- Transform raw data into actionable insights through statistical analysis, KPI development, and machine learning.
- Develop and manage Power BI dashboards, data collection forms, and service request portals.
- Create and maintain ETL processes, complex scripts, stored procedures, and data aggregation queries.
- Integrate AI and machine learning solutions to enhance business intelligence and extract insights from unstructured documentation.
- Develop predictive risk models and quantitative assessment tools for cybersecurity and financial data.
- Manage data normalization, cleansing, and curation from SharePoint, applications, and external sources.
- Produce visualizations and reports for senior management and IT system owners.
- Document business intelligence products and create user guides.
- Design and implement data models that support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
- Optimize database performance and ensure scalability of data pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists to refine analytical models and improve data-driven decision frameworks.
- Implement monitoring strategies to track data quality, pipeline health, and solution usage metrics.
- Participate in code reviews, solution testing, and knowledge transfer activities to support team continuity.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in similar projects or equivalent certifications and work history.
- Proficiency in Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), SharePoint, and InfoPath.
- Experience with API integration and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, Cognos, and Tableau.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have the ability to hold and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Must work on-site in Washington DC five days per week.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance frameworks relevant to government systems.
- Solid foundation in relational database design, query optimization, and data modeling concepts.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning to keep pace with evolving platform capabilities and industry standards.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet strict regulatory and operational requirements.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and drive solutions from concept to production.

- Experience with Asset Management System (AMS), BigFix, Enterprise Process Automation System (EPAS), Facilities Integration Tool (FIT), Joint Cybersecurity Authorization and Management (JCAM), HR Source/HR Reports, Sentinel, Tenable, Unified Finance Management System (UFMS), Xacta, Microsoft Defender for Enterprise, JIRA, JIRA Service Manager, and CrowdStrike.
