What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement backend services and data pipelines capable of handling large-scale company and individual data, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Take ownership of features and system components throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and design to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and coding standards, with a focus on maintainability and testability.
- Participate actively in architectural discussions, evaluating trade-offs, and advocating for scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot production systems, including deploying updates, monitoring system health, and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize AI tools, including large language models (LLMs), to enhance development workflows, automate testing, and explore innovative solutions for data processing and analysis.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment and timely delivery of features.

- Support data quality initiatives, including entity resolution and data enrichment, to improve the accuracy and completeness of our datasets.
- Contribute to documentation efforts, including system design documents, API specifications, and user guides, to facilitate knowledge transfer and onboarding.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development and data systems.
- At least 5 years of Java development experience, including extensive work with production microservices architectures.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working with Spring Boot or the broader Spring Framework ecosystem.
- Strong familiarity with Kafka or similar streaming and messaging platforms, with experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures.
- Proven experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, managing large datasets, and optimizing query performance.
- Practical knowledge of Elasticsearch or similar search and indexing technologies, including indexing strategies and query optimization.
- Understanding of large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines; experience with entity resolution, data quality, or related areas is a plus.
- Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, especially in production environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, including deploying and managing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Strong skills in designing and developing RESTful APIs, adhering to best practices for security and scalability.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test automation, with a focus on maintaining high test coverage.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including fault tolerance, eventual consistency, and system scalability.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design principles and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Familiarity with AI tools, including large language models, and the ability to evaluate and incorporate them into workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
