At Pigment, we are rewriting the rules of business planning. To build the future of our own product, our internal Finance team must operate like a high-performing engineering squad. We don't just execute tasks; we architect systems. As a Finance Engineer, you will sit at the crossroads of Accounting logic, Systems Architecture, and Generative AI. Reporting directly to the Head of FinOps, your mission is to treat the entire Finance stack as a machine: designing automated data pipelines, building production-ready apps via Pigment's Modeller Agents, and ensuring our financial infrastructure scales seamlessly as we grow. The position is Hybrid, meaning 3x per week from the office, no remote possibilities.

You own the end-to-end journey for finance data, guiding intake decisions, constructing models, validating outcomes, and shipping features that partners rely on. We seek someone with three to five years of experience who builds durable solutions for business planning on 3x weekly office presence. You translate ambiguous operational needs into precise technical specifications. You transform unstructured requests into defined data structures that power reliable models. You implement applications that make scenario planning efficient and accurate. You validate system behavior against strict accounting standards. You ensure outputs meet audit requirements. You maintain financial logic as rules evolve. You coordinate delivery with data platform schedules. You align metric definitions with pipeline logic. You enable operational teams to test strategic hypotheses. You adapt models to new regulations without breaking existing reports. You monitor infrastructure to protect data integrity.

Design intake workflows that transform messy requests into structured data for modeling.

Construct reusable components within Modeller Agents to support accurate scenario management.

Review system behavior against accounting rules to ensure logical consistency and audit readiness.

Coordinate with data platforms to align pipelines with evolving metric definitions.

Partner with operational teams to translate strategic questions into testable model changes.

Adapt models in response to new regulations or market conditions without disrupting existing reports.

Guard the integrity of financial infrastructure through careful validation and monitoring practices.

Define data contracts between finance stakeholders and engineering partners to prevent downstream mismatches.

Champion the use of Pigment Modeller Agents to automate repetitive planning tasks and reduce manual overhead.

Establish testing protocols that verify calculations, mappings, and data flows before production release.

Document architectural decisions and data lineage to support long term maintainability and knowledge transfer.

Collaborate with cross functional squads to prioritize enhancements that unlock strategic insight and operational clarity.

Monitor production workloads to detect anomalies, performance regressions, and potential bottlenecks early.

Requirements

You must possess three to five years of experience building systems that handle financial data.

Comfort with navigating complex data structures and APIs is essential for this role.

Strong written and verbal communication in English is required across teams and documents.

You are comfortable working with structured modeling concepts and financial logic under audit constraints.

You understand the implications of data integrity for financial reporting and decision making.

You can manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

You are disciplined about following processes while also improving them where they create friction.

You respect confidentiality and are comfortable handling sensitive financial information in a professional setting.

You are prepared to work hybrid, with a schedule of three days per week in the Paris office.
