Domain Principal, Supply Chain
Job description
About the role
You will architect and own the end to end supply chain narrative that sits at the heart of Pigment's AI planning platform, translating ambiguous business demand into a coherent, scalable data model. You will partner deeply with Finance, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure that every scenario, metric, and forecast line reflects a unified and resilient view of inventory, capacity, and flow. You will define the canonical structures that turn raw operational signals into intelligent planning assumptions, enabling leaders to stress test tradeoffs between service, cost, and risk in real time. You will build the guardrails and automation that keep the planning fabric honest as the business grows from dozens to thousands of use cases. You will evangelize a new way of working where planning logic lives in a connected graph rather than in disconnected spreadsheets, and where changes propagate instantly across teams. You will act as the primary translator between complex supply chain behavior and the intuitive abstractions that non specialists rely on to make confident decisions. You will mentor other planners and power users on how to harness structured data and AI assistance to move from reactive firefighting to proactive strategy. You will steward the data and model quality standards that allow Pigment to scale with the same rigor that underpins our enterprise customers such as Unilever, Snowflake, Siemens, and DPD.
Key facts
What you'll do
Orchestrate the design of a unified supply chain data model that supports forecasting, inventory, sourcing, and capacity planning across the Pigment platform.
Define the canonical metrics and hierarchies that translate raw demand, lead times, and constraints into a coherent planning taxonomy.
Build scenario planning workflows that allow commercial and finance teams to simulate disruptions, tradeoffs, and what if strategies with real time data.
Implement change management patterns that ensure updates to logic, dimensions, and rules propagate safely and predictably across the customer ecosystem.
Collaborate with Product to shape the roadmap for supply chain features, translating user needs into robust specifications and acceptance criteria.
Partner with Finance to align planning assumptions, cost structures, and service level targets with enterprise budgeting and forecasting processes.
Lead the integration design between Pigment and external systems, ensuring that data flows, transformations, and quality checks maintain integrity at scale.
Establish governance practices for versioning, lineage, and auditability so that every plan, assumption, and adjustment is traceable and defensible.
Champion the use of AI assistance to augment planning work, from natural language queries to automated insight generation and anomaly detection.
Own the documentation and enablement content that helps both internal and external users understand, adopt, and extend the supply chain capabilities of Pigment.
Drive continuous improvement by measuring usage, performance, and user outcomes, then iterating on the model and the experience accordingly.
Represent supply chain strategy in cross functional discussions, ensuring that technical decisions reflect operational reality and long term business value.
Act as a thought leader by contributing to reference architectures, best practices, and community content that set the standard for AI driven planning in complex environments.
Champion experimentation, inviting stakeholders to test new configurations, challenge assumptions, and co create the future of networked planning.
Requirements
You have a strong background in supply chain planning, operations, or a related discipline, with experience turning complexity into structured models.
You are fluent in data modeling concepts and comfortable working with dimensions, hierarchies, metrics, and relationships in a platform like Pigment.
You have worked with demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or production planning tools and understand the associated tradeoffs and constraints.
You have experience collaborating with Finance, Sales, and Commercial teams to align plans, forecasts, and budgets.
You are comfortable interfacing with enterprise software such as ERPs, WMS, or TMS, and you understand how data moves between systems.
You have a track record of defining and maintaining canonical data standards that multiple teams can rely on over time.
You are comfortable with SQL or equivalent query languages and can translate analytical needs into data structures and calculations.
You communicate clearly to both technical and non technical audiences, translating operational nuance into coherent model designs.
Nice to have
Experience building or configuring planning platforms, PIM systems, or similar data intensive operational models.
Familiarity with AI tools for planning, anomaly detection, or natural language interfaces to data.
Background in fast growing SaaS environments where assumptions, dimensions, and rules evolve rapidly.
