Key facts
What you'll do
- Perform routine oil changes and lubrication services on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues, such as leaks or worn components, and communicate findings to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including oil type used, mileage, and any additional maintenance recommendations.
- Assist in the installation of filters, wiper blades, and other essential components as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Stay updated on automotive technologies and industry trends to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to improve technical skills and knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of oil, filters, and other supplies, and notifying management when reordering is necessary.
- Engage in promotional activities and customer outreach to build relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and provide recommendations for further repairs when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste disposal and environmental safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive maintenance is a plus.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an automotive service environment.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and components, particularly lubrication and oil change processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to customers in an understandable manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record; additional certifications (e.g., ASE) are advantageous.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
