What you'll do

• Perform routine oil changes and fluid checks on various vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, and fuel filters as needed to maintain optimal vehicle performance.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance services.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about their vehicle needs and service recommendations.
• Assist in the training and development of new team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Keep accurate records of services performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
• Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology to enhance service quality.
• Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to improve skills and knowledge in automotive maintenance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues and provide accurate assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations regarding waste disposal and recycling of automotive fluids.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive service is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive maintenance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with automotive maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety standards and practices in an automotive service environment.

Nice to have

• ASE certification or equivalent automotive service certification.
• Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle maintenance.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, enhancing customer service skills.
• Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, to better serve a diverse customer base.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to automotive maintenance.
• Familiarity with computer systems for service documentation and customer management.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and ordering processes for automotive parts.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools as they emerge in the automotive industry.
