Our mission is to expand access to high-quality mental health and substance use disorder care. We utilize technology, clinical operations, and mission-driven collaborations to serve underserved communities across multiple states.
We are seeking a Medical Director to join our leadership team. This role focuses on clinical oversight, medical governance, and collaboration with operational and product teams. The goal is to drive clinical excellence throughout the organization. The selected candidate will allocate effort between administrative leadership responsibilities and direct patient care sessions.
Position Overview
The Medical Director will act as a critical leader within Peregrine's structure. This individual will help shape our behavioral health service delivery. A key focus will be on strengthening our revenue-generating clinical programs. Standardization of clinical processes across different markets is essential. The role also requires representing Peregrine as a clinical thought leader externally. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of community health dynamics. Experience with value-based care structures and Medication-Assisted Treatment programs is required. A passion for improving access to care in underserved populations is mandatory.
This position balances strategic oversight with clinical practice. The Medical Director will contribute to the organization's growth trajectory. They will ensure clinical excellence is maintained at all levels. The role offers the opportunity to influence care delivery models. Core Responsibilities
Clinical governance forms a central pillar of this position. The Medical Director will serve as the Professional Corporation Owner for Peregrine's clinical practice entities. They will establish clear clinical protocols and decision-making frameworks. Escalation pathways for various scenarios will be defined and managed. This includes processes involving partners, providers, and patients. Specific attention will be given to crisis protocols and legal escalations. Examples include interactions with the Board of Nursing and responses to subpoenas.
Operational pathway design is another critical function. The Medical Director will chart workflows guiding patient intake through delivery. This ensures superior care outcomes across all service lines. They will design governance structures aligning clinical, product, and partner teams. These structures will operate under strict, standardized protocols. Reviewing caseloads and clinical metrics will be ongoing. This ensures adherence to internal standards and all regulatory mandates.
Rapid deployment of care programs is a key objective. The Medical Director will coordinate teams, technology, and resources effectively. This coordination is necessary for timely delivery of services. They will build specific clinical frameworks for CoCM services. These frameworks will standardize documentation, billing, and quality measurement practices. Training providers is also essential. They will instruct teams on crisis protocols, legal processes, and handling complex cases.
Partnership with FQHC leadership is integral to success. The Medical Director will work closely with these leaders. They will advance value-based care models and MAT integration within communities. Talent development is another significant duty. They will mentor both clinicians and administrators. This mentorship will foster a culture of shared excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must hold a current medical license to practice. Active DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances is required. The role demands 3 to 5 years of experience overseeing clinical teams. This experience should be within community health settings. Demonstrated expertise with MAT models is necessary. Experience with value-based reimbursement structures in FQHC environments is essential.
Exceptional communication skills are required. The Medical Director must communicate effectively with boards and executives. They must also interact smoothly with multidisciplinary staff. The ability to translate complex clinical concepts for various audiences is vital.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience guiding CoCM implementation is highly valued. Candidates should have a track record of scaling integrated care. This experience should be within technology-enabled platforms. Familiarity with EMR tools is a distinct advantage. A deep understanding of regulatory requirements is expected. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills are necessary.
