Pendo is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams and drive the development of their product platform. Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers through all stages of the product development lifecycle.
- Define and execute on the technical roadmap for assigned product areas within the company and align with business goals.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate complex business requirements into actionable engineering plans and timelines.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices across the entire engineering team.
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tooling, and overall engineering culture to maximize team productivity and output.
- Participate actively in hiring and onboarding activities to build and strengthen the engineering team with top talent.
- Communicate project status, risks, and blockers to senior leadership and stakeholders through regular written and verbal updates.
- Architect and oversee the implementation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems that serve internal and external users.
- Foster an environment of accountability, ownership, and professional growth among team members through regular one-on-one meetings and feedback.
- Coordinate with other engineering managers to align priorities, resolve cross-team dependencies, and ensure smooth delivery across the organization.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and leading complex software development projects from conception through production deployment.
- Strong background in software development with the ability to contribute technically and provide guidance to engineers when needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with diverse internal stakeholders, partners, and external customers.
- Experience building and scaling engineering organizations as they grow and evolve, including establishing team structures and processes.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and modern software delivery practices, including continuous integration and iterative release cycles.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience gained through work.
- Proven track record of delivering reliable, high-quality software products on schedule and within scope across multiple releases.
- Ability to make informed technical and organizational decisions and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

- Prior experience working in the product analytics or customer experience software industry is highly valued for this role.
- Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and deployment practices for large-scale distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Experience mentoring engineering managers and helping them grow into senior leadership roles within the organization.
