What you'll do

• Design, develop, and optimize RF communication systems specifically for transit environments, ensuring they meet stringent performance and reliability standards.
• Conduct thorough site surveys and assessments to determine optimal locations for RF infrastructure deployment, taking into account environmental and regulatory factors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and project managers, to integrate RF solutions into broader transit communication systems.
• Perform detailed RF propagation modeling and analysis to predict coverage and performance of communication systems in various transit scenarios.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in RF engineering, with a focus on communication systems for transit or similar industries.
• Proficiency in RF design tools and software, such as MATLAB, ADS, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of RF propagation principles, antenna design, and system integration.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and standards relevant to RF communications, particularly in transit environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with digital communication protocols and standards, such as P25, TETRA, or LTE.
