What you'll do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
- Design and develop system architectures that integrate hardware, software, and network components, optimizing performance and reliability.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of system components to ensure functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Document system designs, processes, and procedures, creating comprehensive manuals and guidelines for end-users and technical staff.
- Participate in project planning and management, providing technical insights and recommendations to enhance project outcomes.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying knowledge to improve existing systems and processes.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate and integrate external solutions into existing systems.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders, effectively communicating complex concepts in an understandable manner.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing expertise and fostering their professional growth within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in systems modeling and simulation tools, such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and programming languages, including Python, C++, or Java.
- Experience with hardware integration, including sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant field or professional certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and services, such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices related to systems engineering.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
- Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of these sectors.
