This position is pivotal in fostering growth and profitability throughout the organization by utilizing data-driven insights, formulating hypotheses, and engaging in strategic planning. What you'll do

• Spearhead and oversee cross-departmental strategic proposals and options for the executive leadership and various business units.
• Independently craft and deliver actionable insights and recommendations derived from abstract themes and agendas set by the management team.
• Remain vigilant to external factors impacting PayPay and proactively offer insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
• Assist in a range of projects and special assignments, which include business planning and strategic discussions across the organization.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution of initiatives.
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive strategic discussions and gather input from stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate strategic insights and recommendations to the executive team.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on strategic thinking and analysis.
• Engage with external partners and stakeholders to foster relationships that support strategic objectives.
• Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives and assess their impact on business performance.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of strategic processes and methodologies within the organization.

Requirements

• Strategy consulting at a managerial level or above, ideally from a prestigious firm.
• Corporate management planning or leadership roles within a company.
• Strategic roles within the fintech, finance, or IT industries.
• Proficient in business-level English, with a preference for candidates holding a TOEIC score of 850 or higher.
• A strong passion for business growth coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the finance sector, including payments, banking, and insurance.
• Exceptional analytical and organizational capabilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital transformation initiatives within the financial services sector.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting the fintech industry.
• Previous experience in a high-growth startup environment.
• Fluency in Japanese is a plus, enhancing communication within the team and with stakeholders.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data analysis and presentation creation.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis techniques.
• Experience with data visualization tools to present insights effectively.

Practical notes

Employment Type: Full-time

• Work Style: Hybrid, with attendance determined by organizational guidelines and operational requirements.
• Working Hours: Highly flexible with no designated core hours; standard working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM, totaling 7 hours and 45 minutes of work with a 1-hour break.
• Holidays: Enjoy weekends, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, as well as company-designated days off.
• Annual paid leave: 14 days in the first year, prorated according to the month of joining.
• Personal leave: 5 days allocated each year for personal matters, with provisions for family or pet care.

Salary: Annual salary structure (includes a component for fixed overtime); compensation is based on experience, skills, and performance, with annual evaluations.
