Staff/Principal Product Manager, Infrastructure Platform
Job description
About the role
Parloa is on a mission to transform customer interactions into seamless experiences for both customers and the companies that serve them. As the demand for agentic AI grows, Parloa is at the forefront of redefining customer support, ensuring that it evolves from mere transactions to meaningful conversations. With a proven track record of facilitating over one billion interactions for major global brands such as Booking.com, HealthEquity, Allianz, SAP, BarmeniaGothaer, and TUI, Parloa is poised for continued growth.
The Infrastructure Platform team is responsible for the essential foundation upon which all other engineering teams at Parloa operate. This includes cloud infrastructure, provisioning, orchestration, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and the runtime environments for our AI agents. The team is currently focused on a significant initiative called Deployment Stamps, which aims to revolutionize how Parloa delivers isolated, reliable, and compliant environments across various cloud infrastructures, including public, private, and on-premises setups.
We are seeking a Staff or Principal Product Manager to lead product management efforts within this technical team. This role is highly technical and will not involve crafting user stories for user interfaces; instead, it will focus on shaping the product strategy for a platform that serves primarily internal engineering teams while also addressing the stringent requirements of enterprise security and compliance stakeholders.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the product strategy and roadmap for the Infrastructure Platform, translating goals related to reliability, isolation, data residency, and multi-cloud operations into a structured, outcome-focused plan for engineering teams to implement.
- Act as the primary advocate for internal and enterprise customers, ensuring that the needs of Parloa's engineering teams and external stakeholders, including enterprise CISOs, CIOs, and infrastructure leaders, are met.
- Conduct discovery sessions and draft Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) that outline desired outcomes such as isolation, compliance, and availability, while collaborating with engineering leads to assess feasibility and trade-offs.
- Make critical prioritization decisions, balancing immediate delivery goals with long-term architectural advancements and clearly articulating decisions regarding scope, sequencing, and associated risks.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics for the platform, including availability, service level agreement (SLA) compliance, provisioning lead times, deployment frequency, change-failure rates, internal team adoption, and developer satisfaction.
- Create scalable mechanisms for processes such as region readiness and certification, release management, and cross-team alignment as the platform expands from a limited number of environments to a broader array.
- Engage with a wide range of technical stakeholders, including Engineering, Architecture, Security, Legal/Compliance, and customer-facing teams, to ensure alignment on the platform's capabilities for enterprise clients.
- Connect the platform's capabilities to revenue generation by illustrating how features like data residency and private cloud solutions facilitate enterprise contracts and expansion into new regions.
- Communicate effectively across both technical and business contexts, demonstrating comfort in discussions ranging from architecture reviews to leadership presentations.
Requirements
- A strong technical leadership background with at least 7 years of combined engineering and product experience for Staff level (L4) or 10 years for Principal level (L5). Previous roles as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or senior/staff engineer are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure, including hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, networking, identity/authentication, and observability.
- Proven ability to differentiate between developing a feature and establishing a platform capability, with a focus on reusability, operability, and enhancing the long-term developer experience.
- Comfort with navigating ambiguity and complexity, capable of managing under-defined, multi-team initiatives while delivering long-term solutions with minimal oversight.
- Strong product management skills, including discovery, roadmapping, writing clear PRDs, defining success metrics, and maintaining a disciplined delivery process in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders without direct authority, successfully aligning engineering, security, and business teams around a unified technical vision.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to various audiences, from engineers to enterprise security reviewers and executive leadership.
- A proactive ownership mindset, taking responsibility for outcomes and demonstrating a sense of urgency in driving initiatives forward.
Nice to have
- Experience with enterprise data residency, sovereignty, or compliance requirements, particularly in regulated industries.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid/on-premises delivery models and the challenges of orchestration at scale.
- Background in developing internal developer platforms and applying principles of Team Topologies or platform-as-a-product thinking.
- Experience in B2B SaaS infrastructure, cloud, or developer tools sectors.
- Exposure to AI/ML platform or runtime infrastructure.
