About the role
You are the founding Brand Designer responsible for establishing and evolving Parafin's visual identity across every customer and internal touchpoint. You will own the strategy and execution of the brand system, ensuring consistency and quality at scale. This role requires you to act as the creative partner for the company, translating business goals into compelling visual narratives. You will build long-term brand frameworks that enable Parafin to grow with a clear and recognizable aesthetic. Your work will directly support small businesses by making financial tools feel accessible and modern through design. You will be the definitive voice for how Parafin appears and feels to the world.

What you'll do
- Own and evolve Parafin's visual identity, maintaining the brand system and building out templates and components while maintaining and scaling a brand asset library and style guide so the whole company can stay on-brand.
- Concept and execute marketing campaigns across web, social, paid ads, email, blog, and video, moving from initial idea to final delivery while ensuring brand consistency throughout the process.
- Design, build, and maintain website assets and pages, partnering with marketing and engineering to keep our web presence polished, modern, and up to date while applying web design principles and asset handoff for digital production.
- Art-direct and produce video and motion content for social, ads, and web, creating motion design or animation using tools like After Effects and Lottie, either hands-on or through vendors.
- Collaborate with the product design team to accurately represent and market our product, highlighting key features and maintaining visual consistency so that product visuals reflect the real user experience.
- Create event and office materials such as posters, signage, swag, and internal communications, including photography or art direction when necessary to elevate physical and digital presence.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve how Parafin shows up in the market, finding gaps in the brand system and proposing solutions to fill them before being asked, demonstrating strategic foresight.
- Utilize strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and AI tools within your design workflow to increase efficiency and maintain quality.
- Exhibit excellent typography, layout, and composition skills with a sharp eye for detail, ensuring that every piece of creative meets high standards of professionalism.
- Communicate autonomously by taking a brief and running with it, while also being strong enough as a communicator to present and defend creative decisions to stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements
- 6+ years of visual/brand design experience in relevant fields such as fintech, B2B SaaS, or financial services.
- A versatile brand and graphic designer with a strong portfolio spanning digital and print, comfortable working across mediums including web, social, print, environmental, and motion.
- Experience owning a visual identity end-to-end, from brand strategy and ideation to execution and rollout for complex projects.
- Experience leading or contributing to a rebrand or brand refresh that demonstrates your ability to manage change and stakeholder input.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and AI tools used in modern design workflows.
- Excellent command of typography, layout, and composition with a meticulous eye for detail and consistency.
- Familiarity with web design principles and asset handoff for digital production to ensure designs are technically feasible and implementable.
- Autonomous enough to interpret a brief and execute independently, while also possessing the communication skills to articulate and defend creative decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
Nice to have
- Experience working on brand design within fintech, B2B SaaS, or financial services environments that understand regulatory nuance.
- Motion design or animation skills using After Effects, Lottie, or similar tools to create engaging and dynamic content.
- Photography or art direction experience to enhance Parafin's visual storytelling and produce original imagery in-house.
