About the role
You will serve as a high-impact builder driving the future of AI-enabled business transformation at Pagaya from within the Office of the CEO and President (OCEO/OOP). In this role, you own the design, development, and delivery of practical, high-value AI solutions, automations, and intelligent agents that modernize internal workflows and elevate operational execution. Starting by addressing high-visibility executive priorities, you own the translation of complex financial workflows into durable, scalable AI systems that improve analytical precision and speed across the company. You own the cross-functional collaboration with Capital Markets, Finance, and broader Operations to ensure solutions are tightly aligned with business strategy and data architecture. You own the full lifecycle of applied AI initiatives, from rapid prototyping based on stakeholder feedback to building production-ready tools that meet enterprise standards. You own the documentation and templatization of solutions to enable scalable reuse and active user adoption across both technical and non-technical teams. You will leverage a strong background in Business Intelligence to connect LLMs, foundation models, and AI agent frameworks directly into Pagaya's data infrastructure, dashboards, and financial models.

What you'll do
Identify manual, repeated, or data-dense business processes within the OCEO/OOP and partner teams, then build production-ready AI tools, customized copilots, and agentic workflows to streamline execution.
Leverage your Business Intelligence background to analyze complex financial data, connect LLMs and foundation models, and integrate them into Pagaya's data infrastructure, dashboards, and financial models.
Translate ambiguous business problems and intricate financial data into practical, user-friendly technical solutions in close collaboration with business leadership, financial analysts, and capital markets teams.
Design, iterate, and deploy rapid prototypes based on stakeholder feedback, while ensuring strict adherence to enterprise standards for data security, governance, and responsible AI usage.
Develop workflow automations that reduce manual effort, increase operational speed, and enable more precise decision-making across Capital Markets, Finance, and Operations.
Templatize and document AI-driven solutions to enable scalable reuse across departments, creating playbooks and artifacts that support consistent implementation.
Lead walkthroughs and light enablement sessions to drive active user adoption of new AI tools among both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Partner with data and infrastructure teams to ensure AI systems are performant, reliable, and aligned with Pagaya's data architecture and strategic objectives.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing AI workflows, using feedback and metrics to continuously enhance solution effectiveness and business impact.
Act as the primary technical builder, advisor, and problem-solver for AI-enabled workflow transformations, starting in the OCEO/OOP and expanding into Capital Markets, Finance, and key operational units.
Establish best practices for integrating modern AI tooling with Business Intelligence platforms to create a cohesive approach to data-driven automation.
Support the development of scalable, maintainable AI systems that meet the evolving needs of Pagaya's partners and internal stakeholders.
Contribute to a culture of innovation within the Office of the CEO by exploring emerging techniques and demonstrating the practical value of applied AI in financial services.
Requirements
4+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or software engineering with demonstrated hands-on experience building applied AI solutions, internal tools, or AI-driven automations.
Strong mastery of SQL, data modeling, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker), and experience processing, analyzing, and structuring large data sets.
Advanced proficiency in Python (or JavaScript/TypeScript) for data manipulation, backend scripting, and rapid software prototyping; comfort generating, debugging, and refactoring AI-generated code.
Hands-on experience with modern AI tooling and frameworks, including LLMs, vector databases, agentic frameworks, and MLOps practices.
Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation methods for AI outputs.
Comfort working with sensitive, high-stakes financial data and a strong commitment to data security, governance, and compliance in line with enterprise requirements.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with business leaders, analysts, and technical teams, translating complex topics into clear, actionable guidance.
A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities, iterate quickly on feedback, and deliver reliable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
Experience with agentic workflow orchestration platforms and integration methods for enterprise environments.
Background in financial services, credit, or real estate technology and familiarity with relevant regulatory considerations.
