What you'll do
- Lead the technical team in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that drive business success.
- Collaborate with project managers and product owners to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Establish and maintain best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing protocols, and deployment processes.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the technical department.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that can enhance productivity and improve the quality of deliverables.
- Oversee the architecture of software systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance are prioritized in all projects.
- Conduct regular code reviews and technical assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical solutions with existing systems and processes, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Manage budgets and resources for technical projects, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of team members and tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation within the organization.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding across the organization.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing software solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, and experience with modern frameworks and libraries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with cloud technologies and platforms, such as AWS or Azure, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with database management systems and data architecture principles.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience in the tech industry, particularly in sectors such as fintech, health tech, or e-commerce.
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous experience in project management or holding relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).
