About the role
You will own the foundational analytical research and product level support that underpins Oscar's individual and family (IFP) and employer-subsidized product portfolios. This role requires you to conduct market and competitive research, analyze data, and monitor performance across our regulated markets to directly inform product strategy and execution readiness. You will assess competitor plan designs, benefit structures, and pricing approaches while tracking regulatory developments to support impact assessments for product teams. You will report into the Vice President, Insurance Product Innovation and Development and operate as an insight engine horizontally across product lines. In this position, you will support population and employer-segment research initiatives and ensure that data drives decision making in a complex, multi-market environment.

What you'll do
Analyze product performance across growth, retention, utilization, and margin metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
Build and maintain recurring dashboards and performance reports that provide clear visibility into on-exchange and employer-subsidized solution outcomes.
Conduct market and competitive research across individual and employer-subsidized health insurance offerings to uncover strategic opportunities.
Support deep-dive analyses for product reviews, remediation efforts, and future-year planning to align products with market demands.
Assist in preparation of analytical material required for regulatory submissions and internal reviews, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Play a key role in building, maintaining and identifying improvements to models that forecast membership growth and retention rates in support of strategic decisions.
Track regulatory and policy developments and support impact assessments for product teams to ensure compliance and adaptability.
Support product teams during filing cycles through data validation, QA, and analytical support to streamline execution readiness.
Translate complex analyses into clear, structured insights for product and cross-functional partners through concise summaries and exhibits.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across product artifacts to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
Prepare briefing materials for product leadership to facilitate informed decision making and strategic alignment.
Support documentation of learnings to inform future product cycles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs and translate business needs into analytical requirements.
Contribute to the development of market, policy, and competitive research frameworks that enhance Oscar's evidence-based approach.
Champion the use of data to drive insights and decisions in a regulated, multi-market environment.
Requirements
You bring 1+ years of experience developing and managing commercial insurance products, demonstrating a practical understanding of product lifecycle and performance.
You are willing to travel up to 25% of the time to support internal and external stakeholders as needed.
You reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia, and you understand that this list of states is subject to change.
You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, and a BS/BA degree in a quantitative or healthcare field such as Business, Healthcare, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Public Health, or related disciplines is strongly preferred.
You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable working with data to drive insights and support decision making in a complex environment.
You demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, structured insights for diverse audiences.
You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
You have a strong understanding of regulatory considerations relevant to health insurance products and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
You are proactive in identifying risks, trends, and opportunities through rigorous analysis and interpretation of performance data.
You work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with product managers and other stakeholders.
You are comfortable using analytical tools and platforms to build models, forecasts, and dashboards that support strategic product decisions.
You have a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, ensuring that your analyses and insights remain relevant and impactful.
You are able to interpret policy developments and assess their potential impact on product strategy and market positioning.
