What you'll do

- Deliver direct and constructive feedback to managers, helping them enhance their leadership capabilities and effectiveness.
- Anticipate potential challenges, analyze their root causes, and devise sustainable solutions as priorities evolve.
- Assist teams in navigating organizational changes with transparency and empathy, particularly when standard procedures may not be applicable.
- Engage in data-driven decision-making to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and propose adjustments as necessary.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing team dynamics and leadership skills.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, helping them navigate complex personnel issues and fostering a culture of open communication.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in HR to ensure that OpenAI remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
- Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within the Consumer Devices team, promoting a culture of belonging and respect.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience as an HR Business Partner, particularly in supporting hardware, engineering, or similar technical sectors in fast-paced environments.
- Strong understanding of the interplay between technical, creative, and operational skills within teams, enabling effective support and guidance.
- Ability to comprehend the larger organizational landscape, assisting leaders in making informed decisions and adapting to evolving circumstances.
- Proven track record of delivering candid feedback with empathy and enhancing leadership effectiveness across the organization.
- Exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to test solutions and chart a course forward in the absence of established guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure, show empathy, and exert influence during times of uncertainty or transition.
- High ethical standards, recognized for discretion, fairness, and trustworthiness, particularly in sensitive situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
