The Brand Protection Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive global strategy aimed at safeguarding OpenAI's brand reputation. This position will tackle various types of online infringements to ensure that user trust remains intact.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a worldwide brand protection strategy to ensure the integrity of OpenAI's brands.
• Continuously monitor and address instances of brand misuse across various digital platforms, including websites, social media, and app marketplaces.
• Design and implement programs aimed at protecting OpenAI's products, services, and associated brand identities.
• Coordinate both investigative and enforcement actions to address brand abuse in online and offline environments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, security, trust and safety, and legal departments, to combat brand infringement effectively.
• Create enforcement strategies, establish prioritization frameworks, and develop escalation protocols to manage brand protection efforts.
• Manage relationships with external vendors specializing in brand protection and monitoring services.
• Build a scalable operational framework to support the growth of OpenAI's diverse brand portfolio.
• Analyze data and trends related to brand misuse to inform strategic decisions and improve enforcement processes.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on brand protection initiatives and outcomes.
• Advocate for best practices in brand protection across the organization to foster a culture of vigilance and accountability.
• Stay informed about emerging threats and trends in online brand abuse to proactively adjust strategies as needed.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in brand protection, online enforcement, or platform enforcement roles.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale online enforcement initiatives and programs.
• In-depth knowledge of domains, online marketplaces, app stores, social media platforms, and various forms of digital fraud.
• Strong operational skills combined with analytical capabilities to assess and respond to brand protection challenges.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of enforcement tasks effectively.
• Experience collaborating with multiple departments and successfully scaling programs across an organization.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
• A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in executing brand protection strategies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with legal frameworks and regulations related to intellectual property and brand protection.
• Experience in a technology or software company, particularly in roles related to brand integrity.
• Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and their implications for brand protection efforts.
• Previous experience working with law enforcement or regulatory agencies on brand protection matters.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms to monitor brand health and infringement trends.

Skills & tools

The ideal candidate will be proficient in various tools and platforms used for brand monitoring and enforcement. Familiarity with data analytics software, project management tools, and communication platforms is essential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are also critical for success in this role.
