We are looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's team, which operates within the fintech and AI (Crypto/PSP) sectors. This role involves building, automating, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure to support a high-volume payment platform that processes millions of transactions across multiple regions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the platform's high availability, security, and operational efficiency by implementing best practices in infrastructure management, automation, and deployment processes. Working closely with engineering teams, you will help deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions that support the company's growth and innovation. What you'll do
- Maintain, monitor, and improve production and staging infrastructure to ensure stability, performance, and security.
- Design, develop, and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable software releases.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Manage secrets, credentials, and configuration data securely across different environments to prevent leaks and ensure compliance.
- Enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to provide comprehensive operational visibility and facilitate prompt issue resolution.
- Ensure the infrastructure's security posture by implementing best practices, managing access controls, and supporting compliance requirements.
- Support engineering teams by providing deployment automation, cloud infrastructure guidance, and best practices to streamline development workflows.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, operational procedures, and standards to ensure knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure improvements, optimize resource utilization, and implement new features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to support the platform's growth and evolving business needs.
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and practices to continuously improve infrastructure automation, security, and reliability.
- Support the implementation of security measures such as SAST/DAST and ensure adherence to industry standards like PCI DSS where applicable.
- Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis to improve system resilience.
- Assist in managing cloud costs and optimizing resource allocation to maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Contribute to technical discussions and decision-making processes related to infrastructure architecture and deployment strategies.
- Promote a culture of automation, security, and operational excellence within the engineering team.
- Support compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including ITAR if applicable, ensuring the platform's security and integrity.
- Work in a collaborative environment that values proactive ownership, clear communication, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Docker Swarm, and Portainer.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like ECR, IAM/STS, S3, and VPC.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Extensive experience with GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, self-hosted runners, and OIDC integrations.
- Familiarity with secrets management solutions like HashiCorp Vault or OpenBao.
- Practical experience using Ansible for configuration management and automation.
- Deep understanding of Git, including managing submodules and migrating CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting and maintaining PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka in production environments.
- Ability to develop and improve monitoring and alerting solutions using Grafana.
- Strong ownership mentality with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud infrastructure, including managing secrets and access controls.
- Familiarity with high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, and scalability principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues quickly and efficiently.
- Understanding of compliance standards relevant to fintech and payment processing, such as PCI DSS.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and industry standards.
