Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

This role centers on creating a new AI platform for hardware engineering, built from the ground up by a hands-on technical team. You will collaborate directly with founders and technical leadership, assuming end-to-end ownership of features from initial design through deployment and maintenance. The position is intensely practical, requiring a focus on building a scalable product that tackles significant real-world engineering challenges faced by hardware professionals. You will translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions while maintaining a high standard of code quality. Success demands a product-focused mindset where you drive projects from conception to delivery. The work involves solving intricate problems at the intersection of software architecture and hardware workflows. What you'll do

You will develop the core architecture of the AI platform, ensuring backend services are scalable, secure, and performant. You will design and implement REST or tRPC APIs that enable seamless communication between frontend and backend components, facilitating efficient data flow and application logic. Your TypeScript expertise will be crucial for building a robust and type-safe codebase that minimizes runtime errors and improves developer productivity. You will leverage React or a similar modern frontend framework to create intuitive and responsive user interfaces, allowing engineers to interact with complex hardware data and AI insights effectively. This involves crafting interactive visualizations and data dashboards that make sophisticated engineering simulations accessible and actionable.

You will work closely with the database, utilizing PostgreSQL to model complex relationships and ensure data integrity across the platform. You will optimize database queries and design schemas that support the high-performance demands of AI-driven hardware analysis. You will implement and manage containerization strategies using Docker, ensuring applications run consistently across development, testing, and production environments. Your experience with CI/CD pipelines, likely implemented through GitHub Actions, will be vital for automating testing and deployment processes, reducing manual overhead and accelerating release cycles. You will configure and monitor these pipelines to ensure every code change is validated and delivered reliably to cloud infrastructure.

Your role requires deep proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, where you will deploy and manage infrastructure to support AI workloads. You will configure compute resources, storage solutions, and networking components to ensure the platform is resilient and cost-effective. Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities will be essential as you troubleshoot issues spanning the entire stack, from frontend user interactions to backend service communications. You will analyze logs, reproduce bugs, and implement fixes that improve stability and user experience. A product-focused mindset is critical, as you will own features end-to-end, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Requirements

• 3 to 6 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong background in building production SaaS applications.
• Excellent TypeScript skills across the full stack.
• Experience with React or another modern frontend framework.
• Strong backend development experience and API design.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Product-focused mindset with the ability to own projects from idea to delivery.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience using AI development tools and modern LLM workflows.
• Fluent in English.
• Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate.
• Must have the right to work in the EU.
