What you'll do
- Develop and maintain scalable data and AI platform features for analytics, data science, and generative AI, focusing on data quality, lineage, and security.
- Create standardized components, services, and workflows to streamline data pipeline and data product development.
- Collaborate with analytics, applied AI, and data engineering teams to deliver platform features supporting critical business and clinical insights.
- Evaluate and integrate new data and AI technologies to enhance scalability, reliability, and developer efficiency.
- Implement generative AI to improve data accessibility, documentation, and platform usability.
- Champion software engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and secure data handling.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software or data engineering, focused on building scalable data platforms, services, or analytics infrastructure.
- Practical experience with contemporary data architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses, and batch or real-time processing systems.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for building production-ready data systems.
- Familiarity with distributed computing concepts and cloud technologies like Spark and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform for managing cloud resources.
- Demonstrated application of data engineering best practices for data quality, lineage, governance, and reliability.
- Experience using generative AI tools or technologies to enhance engineering workflows or data platform capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently, pragmatically, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, Delta Live Tables, MLflow, and Model Serving.
- Experience with various NoSQL databases, such as document, graph, key-value, or wide-column stores.
- Familiarity with generative AI application patterns like RAG or knowledge graphs.
- Experience working with sensitive data in regulated industries like healthcare or finance.

Practical notes
- Salary ranges: Zone 1: $179,400 - $224,300; Zone 2: $171,600 - $214,500; Zone 3: $156,000 - $195,000. Actual compensation will be based on candidate experience, skills, and relevant zone.
