About the role
You own the design and implementation of integrations that connect healthcare provider systems with payer networks and internal platforms. You translate complex business requirements into reliable technical solutions that drive straight-through processing and reduce manual intervention. You collaborate closely with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure integration strategies align with customer needs and company objectives. You diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues across healthcare transaction workflows, ensuring high availability and data integrity. You document integration architectures, processes, and configurations to support long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer. You mentor junior engineers on best practices for integration development and troubleshooting in a regulated healthcare environment. You participate in on-call rotations to address production incidents and support critical customer escalations as needed. You continuously evaluate emerging integration patterns and technologies to enhance the scalability and security of our solutions.

Design and configure integration solutions that connect healthcare provider systems with payer networks and internal platforms using industry-standard protocols and formats.
Translate complex business requirements and workflow rules into technical integration specifications that ensure accurate and reliable data flow across insurance and healthcare ecosystems.
Develop, test, and deploy integration components that support eligibility verification, claims submission, payment reconciliation, and revenue recovery processes.
Implement secure data exchange mechanisms that comply with healthcare regulations and protect sensitive provider and patient information.
Monitor integration performance and reliability in production environments, identifying bottlenecks and coordinating remediation with internal and external stakeholders.
Troubleshoot complex integration failures by analyzing logs, payloads, and system interactions to resolve issues across heterogeneous systems and protocols.
Collaborate with product managers, sales engineers, and customer success teams to align integration strategies with customer expectations and business objectives.
Document integration architectures, configuration details, and operational procedures to support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.
Mentor junior integration engineers by providing guidance on development practices, debugging techniques, and integration design principles.
Participate in on-call rotations to respond to production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to customer workflows.
Evaluate and prototype new integration technologies and patterns to improve scalability, security, and maintainability of our integration landscape.
Support the deployment of integration updates and enhancements in coordination with release management and quality assurance processes.
Engage with customers during implementation phases to gather requirements, validate integration behavior, and ensure successful adoption of solutions.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of integration frameworks, reducing manual effort and increasing straight-through processing across healthcare workflows.
Work within agile development cycles, delivering incremental improvements and responding quickly to changing business and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Demonstrate experience designing and implementing integrations for healthcare or financial services environments using standards such as X12, HIPAA, and related transaction sets.
Show proficiency in integration technologies including EDI, APIs, web services, message queues, and transformation tools used in enterprise healthcare environments.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues across distributed systems and heterogeneous data formats.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders across organizational levels.
Maintain a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data mapping, transformation logic, and compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate experience working in regulated environments where data integrity, auditability, and security are critical to operational success.
Show ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on delivery quality and long-term architectural integrity.
Exhibit ownership and accountability for implementation outcomes, driving issues to resolution with persistence and collaboration across teams.
Have a proven track record of translating business requirements into technical integration solutions that support revenue cycle and claims workflows.

Experience with healthcare payment and remittance advice processing within insurance ecosystems.
Familiarity with property and casualty insurance workflows and related regulatory considerations.
Hands-on experience with integration platforms or middleware tools commonly used in healthcare transactions.
Knowledge of agile development practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines for integration solutions.
Experience supporting customer-facing integration configuration and providing technical guidance to non-technical stakeholders.

Hybrid work model based in Concord, California.
Work hours aligned with standard business hours, with flexibility to support after-hours deployments or incident response as needed.
This role may require participation in on-call rotations to address production issues and support critical customer implementations.
