What you'll do

High-power-density SiC converter stages are architected from concept through flight hardware to meet aerospace reliability and certification goals. Schematic capture and PCB layout for high-voltage, high-current power stages are executed using Altium or Cadence tools, with layouts following controlled impedance, creepage, and clearance rules aligned with aerospace standards. DC-link capacitor banks and pre-charge/discharge circuits are developed, managing ripple current, ESR/ESL, lifetime analysis, and partitioning between power and signal domains.

Requirements

The posting states a bachelor's degree requirement. A relevant engineering degree is required for this position. Proven design of SiC-MOSFET-based converters operating above 20 kHz for power density and efficiency is expected. Expert layout skills in Altium or Cadence for high-voltage, high-current, and high-frequency boards are necessary. Deep knowledge of gate-drive techniques for SiC devices, including protection, Miller clamp, and dead-time optimization, is essential. Experience with magnetic component design, including core selection, winding, and high-frequency loss budgeting, is required. Strong thermal management skills for power converters, including heatsink and cold-plate selection, are needed. Practical EMI/EMC filtering and shielding experience to meet DO-160 standards is required. Ability to define and qualify components and suppliers, including second-source development, is expected.
