Our mission is to remove this obstacle, allowing teams to concentrate on their primary objectives. We stand as the largest and fastest-expanding AI-native tax solution. Founded in 2023, Numeral has secured over $57 million from prominent investors such as Benchmark, Mayfield, and Y-Combinator. We serve a growing base of over 3,000 paying customers and have achieved annual revenue tripling each year since inception.
Position Overview
The International Operations Manager will be instrumental in establishing and scaling Numeral's product presence in international markets. This position involves owning the development and execution of tax operations, covering VAT, GST, and indirect tax systems. Responsibilities include research, registration, process design, and automation. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market teams to introduce new countries, support large-scale compliance, and refine systems that integrate human expertise with AI-driven workflows. This is a high-impact position that allows you to directly influence our international growth strategy and create repeatable frameworks for future expansion.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the end-to-end market entry, managing every phase from initial research to final implementation. This involves creating repeatable, automation-ready processes for VAT and GST compliance, utilizing RPA tools, SQL, and AI agents. You will oversee initiatives from conception to completion, piloting new operational systems, documenting procedures, training personnel, and managing regional expansion. A core part of this role is identifying inefficiencies, minimizing manual effort, and deploying tools to enhance use. You will also handle complex, escalated situations, developing systems to prevent similar issues in the future. Knowledge will be formalized through internal SOPs and operational guides to ensure consistent quality as the team scales. Collaboration with Product, Sales, and Customer Experience teams is essential for ensuring smooth market launches and achieving go-to-market success in every region. You will coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to maintain clear timelines and visible dependencies.
Required Qualifications
You must possess over five years of operational experience within fintech, SaaS, or compliance-focused startups. Additionally, you need more than two years of remote work experience within globally distributed teams. A proven ability to build structured processes in ambiguous, fast-paced environments is required. Proficiency in Google Sheets, AppScript, and RPA frameworks is necessary for streamlining compliance tasks. Strong skills in stakeholder and vendor management are essential. You must thrive in a startup environment, comfortable with ambiguity and driven by rapid growth. A sense of intense ownership is crucial, understanding that results directly impact influence and visibility. Deep concern for user experience and the ability to solve daily customer problems are mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a tax-related discipline is advantageous. Previous experience in indirect tax, VAT, or GST operations supporting product or compliance teams is valued. Proficiency in SQL and comfort with relational databases when querying data is expected. Experience implementing AI tools or automation agents into operational workflows is a plus. Prior exposure to Salesforce and state or international tax portals during past projects is also beneficial.
What We Offer
You will receive a competitive salary and equity, directly sharing in the company's success. Comprehensive benefits include full medical, dental, and vision coverage. Wellness perks include subscriptions to Headspace and the Peloton One App. A 401(k) plan is provided to support long-term financial security.
