Senior Tax Accountant
Job description
About the role
New Relic is seeking a finance professional to help establish and scale our internal tax function. This is a foundational role focused on building tax workflows and processes rather than maintaining existing systems. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of technical accounting rigor and strategic process development. You will establish the core methodologies that define how the organization approaches tax compliance and reporting. This position requires a proactive mindset capable of navigating ambiguity and creating structure from limited initial guidance. You will be instrumental in shaping the tax culture and controls for the company as it grows. The role demands close collaboration with finance leadership to ensure all tax activities align with broader corporate objectives.
About the role
This position represents a critical opportunity to build the tax framework for a high-growth technology company. As the Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for establishing the pillars of our tax operations. Success in this role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise and the ability to architect efficient processes from the ground up. You will not merely follow procedures; you will author them. This involves significant ownership over the design, implementation, and scaling of global tax strategies. The position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in environments where structure is created rather than inherited. Your work will directly influence the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the company's tax posture as we scale globally.
