What you'll do

• Design and develop ASIC architecture specifically for video processing, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with software engineers to define and implement hardware-software interfaces for seamless integration.
• Conduct simulations and verification of ASIC designs using industry-standard tools to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Participate in the full design cycle, from initial concept through to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
• Work closely with the verification team to develop test plans and validate ASIC designs against performance metrics.
• Analyze and optimize existing designs to enhance performance, power consumption, and area efficiency.
• Engage in troubleshooting and debugging of hardware issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure project continuity.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in ASIC design methodologies and video processing technologies, applying new knowledge to current projects.
• Document design processes, methodologies, and results to maintain comprehensive project records.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in ASIC design and video technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in ASIC design, with a focus on video processing or related applications.
• Proficiency in hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog for ASIC design.
• Strong experience with ASIC design tools, including synthesis, simulation, and verification tools.
• Familiarity with video encoding/decoding standards (e.g., H.264, HEVC, AV1) and their implementation in hardware.
• Solid understanding of digital signal processing concepts and their application in video technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with FPGA prototyping and validation of ASIC designs.
• Knowledge of low-power design techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms as applied to video processing.
• Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of system-on-chip (SoC) design principles and methodologies.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics for ASIC design and verification.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ for software-hardware integration.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python or Tcl for automation of design processes.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git for collaborative development.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate design performance and identify areas for improvement.
