What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement new features for Android applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and ease of use for end-users.
• Lead projects from initial concept through deployment, collaborating closely with cloud, embedded, and UI/UX teams to deliver integrated product experiences.
• Develop comprehensive test coverage, including unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests, to ensure application robustness and reliability.
• Conduct manual QA testing alongside automated testing to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to troubleshoot complex technical problems, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
• Participate actively in architectural discussions, helping to define the technical direction of the mobile applications and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Advocate for and implement modern development workflows, including code reviews, continuous integration, and continuous deployment pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Explore and incorporate AI tools into the development process, including code generation, test automation, and code review, to improve productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mobile applications with backend services and embedded systems.
• Maintain a focus on security best practices, ensuring that applications are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with industry standards.
• Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Android development, AI integration, and mobile technology to continuously improve the product.
• Contribute to documentation, technical specifications, and best practice guidelines for the team.
• Support the deployment and post-launch maintenance of applications, including bug fixes, updates, and performance improvements.
• Engage with user feedback and analytics to refine features and enhance user satisfaction.
• Assist in onboarding new team members and sharing technical expertise across the organization.
• Work within the company's policies and standards, including secure software delivery and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of Android development experience using Kotlin and Java, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional projects.
• Deep understanding of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system-level integrations.
• Strong skills in designing scalable, testable, and reusable applications that meet high-quality standards.
• Extensive experience creating modern, responsive user interfaces following Material Design guidelines.
• Proven ability to work across mobile, embedded, and cloud systems to deliver cohesive and integrated product experiences.
• Experience developing clients for APIs and microservices, ensuring efficient communication between systems.
• Familiarity with AI-augmented development workflows, including code generation, automated testing, and code review processes.
• Practical experience with DevOps pipelines and tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Fastlane, ensuring secure and efficient software delivery.
• Ability to perform manual QA testing to complement automated testing efforts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Node.js, JavaScript, and Python, with the ability to contribute to backend or cross-platform components.
• Experience working with cross-platform frameworks such as React Native and Flutter, including building and maintaining backend-for-frontend (BFF) layers.
• Knowledge of IoT systems or hardware integrations involving Bluetooth, WiFi, or networking hardware.
• Experience with subscription-based product models, including in-app purchases, billing, and entitlement management.
• Exposure to both iOS and Android platforms, with the ability to develop and optimize applications across both ecosystems.
• Understanding of security standards and best practices for connected devices and mobile applications.
• Knowledge of industry standards related to IoT, networking, and embedded systems.
