About the role
N26 is seeking an AFC Associate and SAR Delegate to become a vital part of the French MLRO team on a fixed-term contract lasting six months. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing Anti-Financial Crime operations, managing investigations, and ensuring the timely submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). You will also play a crucial role in guiding both the KYC and AFC teams through complex scenarios.

What you'll do
- Assess and evaluate investigations carried out by the AFC Operations team to ensure thoroughness and compliance.
- Provide expert guidance and support to AFC analysts when dealing with intricate cases that require additional insight.
- Take charge of investigations related to sanctions, adverse media coverage, and various financial crime risks, ensuring all aspects are addressed.
- Prepare and submit SARs in accordance with the standards set by Tracfin and the ACPR, maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Act as the official Déclarant Tracfin, responsible for reporting suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
- Handle complex requests from regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies, ensuring all inquiries are managed effectively.
- Develop and create communication templates to facilitate interactions with customers regarding investigations and compliance matters.
- Continuously refine local operational procedures to align with both regulatory requirements and the overarching standards of the organization.
- Collaborate with other operational departments that cater to the French market to ensure a cohesive approach to financial crime prevention.
Requirements
- A Master II degree in Law or a qualification from a prestigious Grande Ecole is essential for this role.
- A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in the anti-financial crime sector, particularly within a banking context.
- Strong operational knowledge in areas such as transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and drafting SARs is required.
- Fluency in both French and English is necessary to effectively communicate in a bilingual environment.
- A comprehensive understanding of French and European regulations related to financial crime, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and counter-terrorism financing, is crucial.

- Experience in a Déclarant Tracfin role would be advantageous and is considered a plus for this position.
