Key facts
What you'll do
- Formulate and enhance Mozilla's financial projections for the next three to five years, linking strategic goals with practical financial forecasts.
- Perform in-depth market research to define and monitor the Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM), and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) for existing and prospective initiatives.
- Manage the financial viability and strategic alignment of Mozilla's direct investments and venture portfolio, providing guidance to leadership on capital distribution.
- Work closely with leaders across various business units within Mozilla to collect market insights and evaluate the financial impacts of shifts in the industry landscape.
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a small team of finance professionals, promoting analytical rigor and accountability.
- Offer financial insights to senior management, effectively presenting complex data and financial models for executive reviews and board meetings.
- Assess the financial viability of launching new products internally versus exploring strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial strategies and business objectives, fostering a culture of transparency and teamwork.
- Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the performance of financial strategies and investments, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and economic factors that could influence Mozilla's financial landscape, providing proactive recommendations to leadership.
- Drive initiatives that enhance financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial communications.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in fields such as strategic finance, corporate development, venture capital, financial planning, or management consulting, particularly within technology, SaaS, or consumer internet sectors.
- At least 2 years of direct experience in managing and nurturing analytical talent within a finance team.
- Exceptional skills in constructing complex, scalable financial models for scenario analysis, partnership evaluations, and forecasting trends.
- Strong grasp of strategic frameworks, market sizing methodologies (TAM/SAM/SOM), and corporate portfolio management principles.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse business units and cross-functional teams to gather insights and build consensus around financial strategies.
- Demonstrated success in creating structured financial frameworks from ambiguous strategic questions or incomplete data sets.
- A deep commitment to Mozilla's mission, balancing financial responsibility with a dedication to privacy, open-source values, and technology that benefits the public.
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business is required.

- An MBA or CFA designation would be advantageous.
- Experience with financial modeling tools that incorporate AI capabilities.
- Familiarity with advanced market analysis techniques and methodologies.
