What you'll do

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and network equipment to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with software developers and other IT staff to design and deploy new applications and services.
• Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to maintain compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular system audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their tasks efficiently.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in system administration to continually enhance the organization's IT capabilities.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure service level agreements are met.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to create a knowledge base for future reference.
• Participate in on-call support rotation to address urgent issues outside of regular business hours.
• Mentor junior IT staff, providing training and support to help them develop their skills and advance their careers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in system administration or a similar role, with a strong focus on server and network management.
• Proficiency in operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server, along with experience in virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices to protect systems from threats and vulnerabilities.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Previous experience in a DevOps environment or working with CI/CD pipelines.
