About the role
You own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for foundational security and data capabilities that strengthen platform resilience, trust, and scalability across Motive's platform. You work at the intersection of customer needs, platform investment, and business priorities to deliver capabilities that enable teams across the company to build safer, smarter, and more scalable products. This is a high-impact role for a product leader who is equally comfortable shaping long-term direction and driving cross-functional execution. You will partner closely with engineering, design, data, security, legal, and go-to-market stakeholders to align on complex, high-leverage initiatives. The role is hybrid-based in Seattle and requires authorization to receive and access commodities and technologies controlled under U.S. Export Administration Regulations. You will report into a Director of Product and act as a subject matter leader for your product area by aligning stakeholders, informing decision-making, and measuring outcomes to continuously improve product performance.

What you'll do
Define the product strategy and roadmap for security and data capabilities that improve platform resilience, trust, and scalability.
Build a deep understanding of customer, internal stakeholder, and business needs to identify high-impact opportunities across security, governance, access, and data usability.
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, data, security, legal, and go-to-market teams to translate priorities into clear product requirements and successful launches.
Drive complex initiatives from discovery through delivery, making thoughtful tradeoffs across customer value, technical constraints, operational readiness, and long-term platform health.
Act as a subject matter leader for your product area by aligning stakeholders, informing decision-making, and measuring outcomes to continuously improve product performance.
Evaluate security and data initiatives against platform health metrics, customer trust indicators, and operational risk to prioritize investments.
Collaborate with data and analytics teams to define data quality standards, access policies, and usability improvements that support safer and smarter product workflows.
Lead requirements gathering, user research, and solution exploration to translate ambiguous problems into clear product opportunities and execution plans.
Coordinate with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure product roadmaps align with regulatory obligations and industry best practices.
Own key metrics for security and data capabilities, establishing baselines, tracking performance, and communicating progress to leadership and stakeholders.
Champion a culture of continuous learning and experimentation by synthesizing qualitative insights and quantitative data to refine product strategies.
Establish clear documentation for product requirements, user journeys, and success metrics to enable efficient execution across teams.
Represent product security and data interests in cross-company discussions, ensuring alignment with enterprise customer expectations and internal platform goals.
Guide scoping and prioritization discussions by balancing short-term customer needs against long-term platform scalability and reliability.
Support go-to-market efforts by providing clear value propositions, use cases, and evidence of product impact to strengthen customer trust and adoption.
Requirements
5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of technical or platform-oriented products.
Strong experience working on security, data, infrastructure, platform, privacy, governance, or other highly technical product domains.
Demonstrated ability to define strategy, prioritize effectively, and execute across multiple complex initiatives with cross-functional dependencies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use qualitative insights and quantitative data to make sound product decisions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and consensus across teams and levels of the organization.
Authorized to receive and access commodities and technologies controlled under U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
Must be able to receive and access Motive products and technology in accordance with company policy.

Practical notes
This is a Hybrid role based in Seattle.
Engagement is Full-time.
Compensation range is $150,000 - $200,000 USD, and may include restricted stock units.
