What you'll do

• Assist the project superintendent in overseeing daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Participate in site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
• Help in coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Document daily site activities, including labor hours, equipment usage, and material deliveries, to maintain accurate project records.
• Attend project meetings and take notes to track action items and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Support the superintendent in managing project schedules and identifying potential delays or issues that may arise.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to assist in project planning and execution.
• Engage in safety training and implement best practices to promote a safe working environment for all team members.
• Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to on-site challenges and improve operational efficiency.
• Gain exposure to budgeting and cost control processes, assisting in tracking project expenses and resource allocation.
• Participate in quality control inspections to ensure that work meets the required standards and specifications.
• Shadow experienced professionals to gain insights into the various roles and responsibilities within the construction management team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Strong interest in the construction industry and a desire to learn about project management and site operations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, for documentation and reporting purposes.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or work experience in construction or a related field is a plus.
• Familiarity with construction management software or project management tools.
• Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other design software can be beneficial.
