The successful candidate will be a key contributor to commercial decision-making processes across the entire business. You will report directly to the Head of FP&A UK. In this capacity, you will collaborate with leaders in Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to provide critical financial insights. Your analysis will directly influence trading performance, investment choices, and long-term strategic planning.
This position offers high visibility within a dynamic and fast-moving environment. You will engage with senior stakeholders and play an instrumental role in shaping strategic outcomes for the UK business. A core part of this role involves leading and developing an FP&A Analyst. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across forecasting, reporting, and planning methodologies.
This role represents a shift towards finance as a strategic partner. It is an opportunity to create a significant impact while gaining broad experience in both trade and operational finance. This is a hybrid position based at our Farringdon office, requiring an average of two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
You will own the UK finance narrative, translating data into actionable strategies. Your work will establish clarity for leadership, ensuring that campaigns, calendars, and costs are aligned with market demand. You will mentor an analyst while actively pushing the evolution of plans as market conditions change.
Your specific duties will include setting the agenda for commercial choices and trade priorities. You will design financial models that connect marketing expenditure with campaign performance metrics. A regular task will be reviewing variance stories to identify risk and guide operational adjustments. You will generate insights that shape product pricing and channel investment logic.
Ensuring our technology serves the business correctly is vital. You will partner with technology teams to verify that dashboards accurately reflect business logic. Collaboration is essential; you will coordinate commercial assumptions with Greetz and Red Letter Days. You will also challenge forecasts to test resilience under various demand scenarios. A further responsibility involves guiding Buyagift data to ensure promotional activities align with margin and cash flow targets.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to track profit drivers using spreadsheets and presentations. A minimum of three years of experience in FP&A or commercial finance contexts is required. You must be comfortable navigating month-end cycles and variance explanation practices. Fluency in Excel and presentation tools is essential for effective stakeholder communication.
