What you'll do

• Participate in the design and development of projects that enhance the scalability of Atlas Search, ensuring a smooth user experience for large workloads.
• Collaborate with a team that emphasizes sound technical decisions and builds systems that delight our customers and instill pride in our engineers.
• Lead projects and take ownership of specific subsystems.
• Contribute to the team's roadmap and influence the architecture of our systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in designing, building, testing, and maintaining high-quality backend software within complex codebases.
• Proven experience in developing distributed systems and multithreaded applications.
• Familiarity with public cloud environments, distributed infrastructure, and metrics-driven development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern statically typed programming language, with a willingness to work with Java.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
• A growth-oriented mindset with a desire to learn quickly through challenges and feedback.
• A deep sense of ownership over your work, from initial design through to production maintenance.
• Within 3 months, you will have a solid understanding of team operations and contributed to an existing project, completing several minor enhancements or bug fixes.
• By 6 months, you will be reviewing code and project designs, actively participating in team meetings.
• After 12 months, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the systems managed by our team and have led a small project, proposing improvements to our code, product, or team processes.

MongoDB's base salary range for this position is $122,000 to $209,000 USD. Compensation is tailored to each candidate based on various factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This salary is part of a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, which may include equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, fully-paid parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, a 401(k) plan, mental health support, and health benefits. Please note that the salary range and benefits mentioned apply only to candidates based in the U.S.
