About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our Revenue team as a Senior Specialist
2. This newly established position will be based in our Gurugram office and is designed to support our ongoing growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing revenue operations processes, including month-end closing, general ledger entries, and ensuring the accuracy of sales transactions in our ERP system.

What you'll do
- Manage month-end closing activities, including cash analysis, reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
- Review sales transactions within the ERP systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity of revenue schedules, including revenue allocations.
- Support the evaluation of various revenue streams for correct accounting treatment.
- Conduct analyses to determine if contracts should be combined in accordance with ASC 606.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of SaaS usage and professional services data for revenue recognition.
- Assist in calculating self-serve revenue from online credit card transactions.
- Prepare work papers, PBCs, and facilitate audit walkthroughs for both internal and external audits.
- Draft contract review summaries by identifying non-standard terms and documenting accounting conclusions.
- Maintain schedules for deferred revenue and contract assets.
- Create executive-level analytics for internal and external presentations.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, such as GL, OTC, and Business Systems, to resolve ongoing issues.
- Participate in additional project work as needed.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CA/CPA certification is advantageous) with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a global revenue accounting environment.
- Understanding of revenue operations, recognition, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience working with sales data, customer contracts, and product offerings.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to manage large data sets.
- Previous experience in the Software/SaaS sector.
- Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems, specifically NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606.
- Experience in a SOX-compliant environment.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to clearly present issues and findings.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment while aligning with MongoDB's core values.
Success Measures
- Within the first 30 days, you will familiarize yourself with our business, product offerings, and revenue streams.
- By 3 to 6 months, you will become acquainted with our internal systems and operational workflows, performing assigned accounting tasks independently.
- Within 6 to 9 months, you will establish relationships with key business partners and directly address issues as they arise.
