About the role

We are looking for a Senior or Staff level engineer to join our Infrastructure Security team. You will create and maintain security controls for the MongoDB Atlas multi-cloud environment. This role sits within the Site Reliability Engineering organization where you will own the design and execution of critical security infrastructure. You will work on the foundational layers that protect our cloud platforms and internal tooling. What you'll do

• Architect and implement security services for compute, identity, and networking across GCP, AWS, and Azure.
• Utilize Linux security features such as SELinux, AppArmor, seccomp, and cgroups alongside Kubernetes and eBPF to enforce runtime policies.
• Create automation, APIs, and tooling for vulnerability management, workload identity, and cloud security posture management.
• Build monitoring, logging, and alerting pipelines using Victoria Metrics, Splunk, and Grafana.
• Incorporate security into CI/CD pipelines and Terraform infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Manage projects from initial design and documentation through to deployment and long-term maintenance.
• Partner with product, platform, and SRE teams to architect secure infrastructure.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or a related security field.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Rust, Golang, Java, Python, or C/C++.
• Experience using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and security automation.
• Deep knowledge of networking and Linux internals.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes security, including tools like Kyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper, Falco, Tetragon, or eBPF.
• Experience working with security best practices on at least one major cloud provider.
• Ability to communicate complex security tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with container security and image scanning workflows.
