About the role

We are seeking a CPQ Engineer III to enhance our Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) capabilities that support our go-to-market teams in selling and pricing MongoDB products. This role involves managing the complete delivery of features related to configuration, pricing, approvals, and quote generation. You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure that our solutions align with business needs and technical standards. In this capacity, you will act as a technical owner for complex Salesforce CPQ initiatives, driving them from initial discovery through production deployment. You will be responsible for architecting solutions that balance scalability with immediate business demands. Your work will directly influence the revenue operations infrastructure that powers our commercial engine. You will bring a methodical approach to problem-solving and process optimization. This position requires a proactive mindset to identify gaps and propose improvements independently.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop Salesforce solutions that facilitate complex product modeling, dynamic pricing, and automated quoting workflows.
• Design and implement robust approval processes and renewal workflows within the Salesforce CPQ ecosystem.
• Partner with Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Deal Desk to translate intricate business requirements into technical Salesforce specifications.
• Engineer scalable integrations between Salesforce and external systems such as enterprise resource planning and billing platforms using platform APIs.
• Utilize Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flows to build responsive and efficient user experiences within the CRM.
• Perform advanced SOQL queries and REST/SOAP API integrations to ensure data integrity and system performance.
• Lead technical design sessions, story grooming, and sprint planning activities for CPQ-related deliverables.
• Conduct thorough testing and participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and system reliability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to CPQ configuration, pricing logic discrepancies, and system bottlenecks.
• Document end-to-end processes and support user acceptance testing to validate solutions and enhance platform reliability.
• Ensure all implementations adhere to strict security protocols and data governance best practices.
• Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to automate documentation tasks and improve development productivity without compromising accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize backlog items and ensure timely delivery of high-impact CPQ features.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Salesforce CPQ functionalities, mentoring team members and elevating overall team capability.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Possess a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development with demonstrable expertise on the Salesforce platform.
• Show a solid understanding of Quote-to-Cash processes and established Salesforce best practices for implementation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Apex programming, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flows, SOQL, and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Have proven experience with product modeling, pricing rules configuration, and end-to-end quoting workflows.
• Show familiarity with integrating Salesforce to external line-of-business systems such as ERP and billing platforms.
• Have working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Salesforce release management best practices.
• Exhibit strong analytical capabilities, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Hold Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification and Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification as mandatory requirements.
• Have a track record of delivering Salesforce projects in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Demonstrate commitment to compliance and an understanding of the implications of FedRAMP regulations.
• Show an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Have experience working with version control systems such as Git in a professional development context.
• Show evidence of writing clean, testable, and well-documented code that supports long-term maintainability.

• Knowledge of Salesforce Billing and its underlying data model.
• Experience with Salesforce DX, Copado, or similar DevOps tools for streamlined deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with Visualforce, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS for front-end customizations.
• Experience in preparing training materials and supporting user adoption initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools that enhance engineering effectiveness and documentation quality.
• Understanding of data migration strategies and best practices for large-scale Salesforce implementations.

Practical notes

This position requires U.S. citizenship due to compliance with FedRAMP and other government regulations. The role is fully remote with a salary range in the United States between $101,000 and $198,000, with compensation based on various factors including experience and location.
