About the role
We are seeking a Staff Integration Engineer specializing in Workato and API Integration to join our GTMTech team in Gurugram. This pivotal position will focus on designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise-level integrations that enhance our core business operations. The primary emphasis will be on Workato-based integrations and contemporary API management techniques.
You will be responsible for the architecture of key integration areas, such as Quote-to-Cash, ensuring that our integration framework is scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices for event-driven and API-first designs. Collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, and business teams will be essential to set standards, mentor integration engineers, and promote continuous improvement in our systems and data connectivity.

What you'll do
- Oversee the complete architecture, design, and execution of Workato-based integrations and APIs within GTM systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop and refine integration standards, patterns, and best practices, including error-handling strategies and operational runbooks.
- Create and evaluate complex, event-driven integration workflows using technologies like Kafka, ensuring effective management of topics and durability.
- Promote API-first and MCP-native designs for GTM integrations, utilizing RESTful APIs and AI-driven services, while ensuring robust authentication and versioning.
- Transform complex business requirements into structured technical designs, assessing various solutions for scalability and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other integration engineers on Workato concepts, API design, and integration methodologies.
- Collaborate with GTM, Finance, Data, and Security teams to align integration designs with compliance and governance standards.
- Establish and uphold non-functional requirements for integrations, ensuring they are met through design and monitoring.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate issues across multiple systems, performing thorough root-cause analyses.
- Conduct proof of concepts to validate technology choices and guide the team on their adoption.
- Participate in the on-call and support rotation for integrations, ensuring effective incident response and communication.
- Exemplify MongoDB's cultural principles while maintaining high standards for technical excellence within GTMTech.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in enterprise integration, including substantial time in lead or architect roles.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Workato, demonstrating a deep understanding of the platform beyond basic capabilities.
- Extensive experience operating Workato in production environments, including deployment automation and observability.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, including message durability and failure handling.
- Proficient with Workato connectors and scripting languages like Python or Ruby for advanced transformations.
- Proven ability to define and enforce integration standards and non-functional requirements across teams.
- Excellent analytical and system design skills, focusing on data flows and system interactions.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities across various technologies and environments.
- Experience mentoring teammates and leading technical discussions.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative, hybrid work environment, with occasional travel for key engagements.
